Our special tea begins with the island of Borneo itself. Its clean
air, pure water and the rich volcanic soil of our estate create the
perfect environment for a plant which has been used as a folk
medicine for many centuries. Balung Java Tea
(also known as Misai Kucing Herbal Tea) is traditionally used for kidney
bladder stones, liver, gallbladder, diabetic problems and urinary
tract infections as it has a mild diuretic action which is useful
for flushing the kidneys and urinary tracts. It is also used to
reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure. It is also taken for
rheumatism and gout, although its effectiveness for these problems
has not been scientifically verified. Researchers have found it
to be mildly antiseptic as well.
Grown in the rich volcanic soil of North Borneo
(Sabah, Malaysia), the Balung Java Tea is enjoyed
throughout South East Asia, known to boost and enhances one's well
being.
Balung Java Tea is hygienically processed
100% solely from the leaves (where most of the medicinal
contents are located) with no artificial colouring, flavoring
or additives.
Pokok Misai Kucing is the
Malay name for Orthosiphon Staminus Benth, a medicinal herb
found throughout Southeast Asia and in tropical Australia.
The plant is known by many other names including Kumis Kucing
and Remujung (Malay), Orthosiphonblaetter, Indisher Nierentee,
Feuilles de Barbiflore, Java Tea, Javatee, Kidney Tea and Yaa
Nuat Maeo.
The Java Tea plant is an herbaceous
shrub which grows to a height of 1.5 meters. It is a popular
garden plant because of its unique flower, white and bluish with
filaments resembling a cat's whiskers. In the wild, the plant
can be seen growing in the forest and along roadsides.
Savor and enjoy a refreshing and soothing drink
that is full of Goodness for your body.
